Import Client Contact

The Client Contact Record Type is used to create a Client Contact during the import process. The Client Contact form is used for working your Client accounts. It defines actions or reminders for specific dates. You can use information from the data source, or create a Client Contact based on defaults that you set in the import map's Import Record Definition for the Client Contact.

tip.gif To attach the Contact to a Client, use the Client Contact Record Type. Use the Contact Record Type to attach a Contact to a Debtor.

Select the Client Contact Record Type to view a list of all the Client Contact fields that may be referenced in an import routine. Be sure to include the "File" field in your import map. This is a virtual field that connects the Contact to the correct client.

tip.gif To access the Contacts tab from the Client form, you must have Client Management enabled in Collect! Features. Please request assistance from Administration for licencing or upgrade options, if needed.

tip.gif Collect! ships with a sample import map for importing and exporting Client Contacts. You can also download this from the Collect! Member Center.

tip.gif The functionality needed to import Client Contacts is enabled in Collect! Version CV11.4 Build 3.1 and newer. Collect!'s Integrated Client Management module is now included in every Collect! Version 11.4.3 system. If it is not enabled in your Collect!, contact Administration for upgrade options.

View Field Lists

Click on the links to view tables of Field Types for the specific Record Types that Import/Export processes. These tables give additional information, such as the exact fields and forms in Collect! referenced by each field type, the type of data in the field, and the size of each field.
