List And Form Views

Information can be displayed in a list or in a form.

LISTS contain many records displayed in rows and columns. There will be one bold row which is the current row you are working with.

1. Press F5 to display the form.

2. Press Esc to exit.

tip.gif Rather than using Esc, you should press F8 to exit from a form. That way, whatever changes you made will be saved.

FORMS contain only one record, and consist of various fields which combine to make up the complete record.

1. Press F4 to edit the contents.

2. Press Esc to exit.

Viewing Lists

In lists you can move around, find specific records and reduce the list to only those records you want.

Moving In The List Using The Keyboard

Use the following keys and combinations to move in the list.

Moving in the list:

Up and Down arrow keys scroll by record.

PgUp and PgDn scroll by pages.

Ctrl Home and Ctrl End go to the top and bottom.

Esc (Escape) exits.

Find

Quickly finding a record:

Type the information you are looking for.

Click on the list of fields. Tab moves across the fields, and Shift+Tab moves back. On any applicable field, simply type a name or client number, and press Enter to skip directly to that name.

Reduce

Reducing the list:

Press F6 to set your search criteria.

Moving In The List Using The Mouse

You can also use your mouse and the scroll bar to move through the list.

Moving in the list using the scroll bar:

Click on the up arrow to scroll up one record.

Click on the down arrow to scroll down one record.

Click above the scroll bar highlight to page up.

Click below the scroll bar highlight to page down.

Click the left button outside of the form to close it.
