Customize Import/Export
The Customize Import/Export sub-menu contains choices for
modifying your import/export routines and creating new import
maps. Examine record and field definitions, update field
definitions, load an alternate import library, and save or load
individual maps between import libraries.
Select File from the top menu bar to access the
Import/ Export menu. Then select Customize Import/Export
to view the sub-menu choices outlined below.
Import/Export is an add-on extension module in
Collect!. If it was not part of your purchase, please request

Edit File Format
Select this to display the list of File Format Specifications
defined in the loaded import library. You may select a
File Format Specification to modify or create a new one.
The File Format Specification contains detailed file settings
for your import or export procedure. Press F1 for help
when the form is displayed.
Load File Formats
Select Load File Formats to load a previously saved import
map file into the currently loaded import library. Collect!
will allow you to browse to the *.XML import files that
you saved.
Save File Formats
Select Save File Formats to save selected
Import File Specifications from the currently loaded
import library. You can save one or more import maps.
Collect! will save the import maps in an *.XML
file in the folder you select.
Record Definitions
Select this to open the Record Type form where you
can view details of the types of record that Collect can
import and export. This list is READ ONLY. Press F1 for
help when the form is displayed.
Field Definitions
Select this to open the Field Type form where you can view
details of the types of field that Collect can import and export.
This list is READ ONLY. Press F1 for help when the form is
displayed.
New Import Library
Select this to register a new import library. This process
will make this library available for loading with the
Select Import Library choice.
Delete Import Library
Select this to delete a registered import library. Please
use this command carefully as it actually deletes the
selected import map from your Collect import folder! There is
no restore.
