New Features - 11-2 Build 8
Welcome to Collect! Version 11.2 Build 8. This latest
version has many new features and functionality. There
are also many optimizations and enhancements to existing
features.
Search And Replace
Two new functions have been added to Search and Replace:
WILD CARDS
Search and Replace now accepts wild cards in the search
string. Currently supported wild cards are [*] which matches
any number of characters and [?] which matches any
one character.
PICK LISTS AND KEY FIELDS
Search and Replace now works with pick list fields and
key fields, such as Debtor Status.
Please refer to Help topic, Search and Replace for more
information.
You've Got Claims
The Collect! Demo now ships with a variety of You've Got Claims
reports. Simply select the You've Got Claims report library from
within Collect!.
Interoffice Data Transfers
The Collect! Demo now ships with a convenient import/export
library that you can use to take information out of one Collect!
database and import it into another, for instance, the archive
database, if needed. This may be used at any time with clients
and all debtor information. Export a client to CSV, excluding all
permissions, and easily use the same map to import into a
different Collect! database. This is useful especially for archived
records because read only permissions are not sent with the
data.
Ignore Operator Security Setting
This new global switch in Database Preferences allows an
administrator to disable all Operator account security settings.
Switch this ON to completely disable Operator settings for
Security, Strict, Locked out by default, and Client # in the
Operator Security form. It will be as if all these switches
are turned OFF.
Performance Variables
New settings in Database Preferences enable you to define
values for optimizing your system performance.
Batch and Lock Interval settings affect the overall performance of your
Collect! system. You can speed up batch process or you can
ensure that you are not slowing down other operators who may
be using Collect! at the same time.
Lock Timeout setting affects waiting time for lock requests.
BATCH INTERVAL
This number sets the number of records retrieved at any
given time. Increasing the number speeds up the process
but it may adversely affect other operators who may be
using the system at the same time. Decreasing the
number slows down the batch process.
LOCK INTERVAL
This number sets the number of milliseconds records are
locked for at any given time. A high number slows down
the system for other operators but speeds up the
batch process. A low number enables other operators
to continue working at a reasonable pace, but slows
down the batch process.
LOCK TIMEOUT
This setting enables you to change the default 2
second lock timeout to a user defined value. A longer
Lock Timeout increases the chance that your
lock request will be granted, but may result in a
longer period of "waiting for lock request."
Please refer to Help topic, Database Preferences
for more information.
Optimizations
Enhancements were made to Performance, Report Writer,
Display and Handling, Application Log, Access Rights
and other areas.
Upgrading To This Build
